A Story of Survival, Purpose & Impact

Behind every broken voice is a story worth hearing. And this is where ours begins.

Some organizations are built from an idea. Others are born from an experience that changes everything.

Broken Voices Reclaimed was born from pain, resilience, and the belief that no one should ever have to suffer in silence.

What began as a deeply personal experience became a greater calling: to create a space where survivors are heard, stories are honored, and individuals are empowered to reclaim the voices they once felt they had lost.

We believe that what happened to you does not define who you are. Your past does not determine your future. And no matter how long you've been silent, your story still deserves to be heard.

The Heart Behind The Mission

Born From Pain. Built With Purpose.

Broken Voices Reclaimed is more than an organization. It's personal to both of us.

Our story began with a mother's survival and a daughter's determination to turn unimaginable pain into something meaningful.

Domestic violence changed our lives in ways we could have never imagined. One of us experienced the violence firsthand, while the other experienced the heartbreak, fear, and helplessness of watching someone she loves fight to survive.

As a mother, surviving being shot multiple times by the person who was supposed to love and protect me was something I never imagined would become part of my story. As a daughter, witnessing the devastating impact of that violence on my mother changed the way I viewed life, love, strength, and survival.

Although we experienced that tragedy differently, we both learned something that would stay with us forever: surviving is only the beginning.

There were emotional wounds that couldn't be seen, difficult days, unanswered questions, and moments when finding a sense of normalcy felt impossible. There was the process of rebuilding, rediscovering ourselves, and learning how to move forward while carrying an experience that would forever be part of our lives.

Through it all, we witnessed strength in moments of fear, courage in moments of uncertainty, and resilience when giving up might have seemed easier.

But somewhere along our journey, we began thinking about the countless individuals whose stories are never told.

The women who suffer in silence. The mothers trying to hold their families together while silently falling apart. The daughters, sons, and loved ones who carry the emotional weight of someone else's trauma. The individuals who have been dismissed, overlooked, or made to feel that their voices no longer matter.

And we realized that our story was bigger than just us.

We couldn't change what happened to our family, but we could choose what we did with the experience.

That realization became the foundation of Broken Voices Reclaimed.

Together, we wanted to build more than an organization that simply raises awareness. We wanted to create a community where survivors and their loved ones could feel seen, heard, supported, and empowered to speak their truth without shame or judgment.

A place where conversations that are often avoided can finally be had. Where healing isn't rushed or measured against someone else's expectations. Where people are reminded that their experiences do not define their worth, and their stories do not have to end where their pain began.

Because we know firsthand that trauma doesn't just affect one person. It touches families, relationships, futures, and generations. But we also believe that healing, empowerment, and change can do the same.

We don't share our story because we have all the answers or because every day has been easy. We share it because we understand what it feels like to have your entire world change and still have to find the strength to keep going.

And sometimes, the most powerful part of healing is discovering that you are not alone.

What began with our family's pain has become our shared purpose: to make room for countless others to reclaim their voices, rewrite their stories, and recognize the strength that has always been within them.

We are a mother and daughter. Two different perspectives. One shared experience. And one mission that is so much bigger than us.

Our voices were never broken. And neither is yours.
